Cameron Stead has more than 10 years’ experience in community engagement, with a previous career in corporate communications and public relations, a current position as Artist Educator at the Museum of Contemporary Art (2020-), and a recently concluded role in the City of Sydney’s public art team (2020-2023), where he coordinated and led public programs.
Independently, Cameron works closely with major arts institutions, Local Government and small art galleries to devise and facilitate a variety of community engagement programs, resources and workshops, responding either to his own creative practice, a gallery’s art collection, or desired community outcomes.
Let’s work together.
Targeted community engagement strengthens interpersonal and place-based connections, and enables meaning-making in a safe and supportive environment.
Through creative play, we develop new skills for problem solving and lateral thinking, and deepen our understanding of different cultural practices, while receiving respite from screen-time, work and institutional learning.
How can I support you to connect with your community?
