Cameron Stead is an interdisciplinary artist based on Gadigal Country. Stead’s practice spans community engagement, painting, drawing, installation and fibre art. He investigates the dualities of public and private experiences and contradictions in the human condition, while responding to personal and collective histories.

Stead holds a Bachelor of Fine Art (National Art School) and a Bachelor of Communication (University of Newcastle). He has held exhibitions locally and overseas and is the 2017 winner of the prestigious Kilgour Prize, and a 2020-21 Waverley Studios Artist in Residence.
