CAMERON STEAD
Cameron Stead
is an award-winning visual artist, educator and community facilitator based on Gadigal Country, in Sydney. With over ten years of experience, he specialises in developing creative projects, exhibiting artwork, and fostering community engagement. Cameron brings a unique mix of creative vision and high-level communication skills to his practice and client services.
Cameron is the 2017 winner of the prestigious Kilgour Prize and was a 2020-21 Artist in Residence at Waverley Artist Studios. He has exhibited locally and overseas and holds teaching positions at the Museum of Contemporary Art Australia (since 2016) and the Art Gallery of NSW (since 2025). He frequently collaborates with institutions like the Sydney Opera House, FLENK Collective, and PHIVE Parramatta, in addition to local galleries and councils across Greater Sydney. Cameron previously held the position of Public Art Coordinator at the City of Sydney (2020-2023).
